My reason

It all begins with an idea. Well, I have had many. I know that as a woman, birthing a baby and becoming a mother is an experience one does not forget. However, as a black female and healthcare professional, I also know it can be one of the most frightening experiences. Unfortunately, we know that racial disparities exist, even in healthcare. Statistics show that black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women (CDC, 2023)

If you are reading this information, and weren’t aware, i’m glad you now are. It means that you are now able to play a role in working to prevent pregnancy-related deaths and improving maternal health outcomes. What can you do? I’m not sure what you are capable of doing, but I know that my education and background allows me to advocate for not only my patients but for my clients. This is my reason for creating this business.
